This must have been an amazing experience. Ed Alleyne-Johnson, well known in the electric violin world, busking on the streets of Chester, UK, with his self-designed violin and entire electric setup. This movie was recorded in May 2006. Great sound for a street recording!

What equipment is Ed using to record/playback? Names of manufactureres? Suppliers? Limitations on length of recording time?

that's a loopstation for sure.
I've become hugely inspired by Mr Alleyne- Johnson, and have bought a boss RC20-XL loopstation, and am practising away trying to get close to his sound. this model records up to 11 loops of sixteen minutes each- plenty long enough for a song.- cost me £100 on ebay. I'm not sure of the distortion, he seems to have a good few pedals on the ground in the vid. I'm experimenting with a few. Amazing how that whole rig runs on batteries!!
Perhaps the man himself could one day be persuaded to comment?
