Equipment for "tape loop delay" type of effects

Could anyone steer me towards suppliers of equipment for recording/playback of music that allows a solo musician to play along with his/her own accompaniment? (Canadian suppliers preferred, but any will do) Thanks very much.
Just a few that I am aware
Just a few that I am aware of, and that are available through many shops:
- Line 6 DL-4 Delay Modeler: it simulates a number vintage delay and echo effects, icluding EP-1 Tube Echoplex, EP-3 solidstate Echoplex, Space Echo, Deluxe Memory Man, Reverse delay, Rhythmic delay, Dynamic delay, ... 14 seconds of memory + 800ms of Pre-delay
- Boss RC2: a stomp-box sized loop unit. Loops up to 16 minutes of music, quantizes loop points, plays built-in drum patterns, offers undo and redo, and even has an aux input to grab loops from other audio sources.
- Boss RC50 Loop Station: 7-footswitch floor unit. Lets you manipulate three stereo phrase tracks simultaneously. Each track supports multiple overdubs. Up to 49 minutes of music, 99 patches, 3 master loops per patch.
Haven't got personal experience with these units. If anyone knows alternatives, feel free to post.
Foot switch / tape loop gear
Thanks for your reply and all the details. I'll start Googleing for distributors. Can you tell from the You Tube video what Ed Alleyne-Johnson is using?
Quite a few different
Quite a few different effects, that's what I knowx for sure. It seems there is at least an array of independent Boss-stomp-box -like footswitches. I cannot derive the type responsible for the loop-effects. The sound is also quite complicated, making it more difficult to guess how it's all done.
Ed is probably using an old
Ed is probably using an old Boss delay pedal.
Also, don't discount the Echoplex looper.

Mr Alleyne - Johnson's vid
there's a chap on youtube who seems to have evolved a pretty ed-like distortion sound - tells us he's using a boss mt2 'metalzone' pedal.

- I'd swear that's an octivider on Ed's first pizzicato bass accompaniment loop too. Could be just fine acoustics though.
