Ithaca
Ithaca Stringed Instruments (ISI) is the workshop of Eric Aceto and sons, and has been building beautiful handmade violins, violas, cellos, mandolins and custom guitars for over 30 years. Ithaca violins are played by famous artists like Jean Luc Ponty, Darol Anger and many others.
Ithaca instruments are equipped with their own ISI Pickup System. Twin sensing elements are strategically placed to optimize the string-to-body resonance of the instruments. It is available on both Violect and N·V models, but also separately.
ISI is specialized in amplified and unamplified acoustic instruments.
NV
The NV looks like a traditional instrument except that the f-hole, bass bar and sound post are eliminated. This enables a unique tone production, which leads to transmission of the sound throughout the instrument directly into the pickup. The NV is an acoustic instrument made to be plugged in. When fitted with the new Aceto/Violect Pickup System it offers a superb amplified acoustic sound. The NV violin is available in 4,5 or 6 string versions, as well as viola.
NV-C
The NV-C is a more affordable ISI instrument. The garland, top and back plate are carefully prepared by a group of violin makers in China. Further graduation of the plates, installation and tning of the tone bars and assembly are done by Eric Aceto. Equiped with an Aceto/Violect pickup system this instrument is basically a handmade NV model for a considerably lower price. Also available in 4, 5 and 6 string versions.
Artist Models
Whereas the NV and NV-C instruments are optimized for high volume situations, the Artist Model is targetted at demanding musicians playing at more moderate volumes who need the subtleties of an acoustic instrument. This violin combines an excellent acoustic playability and sound with a superb tone and nuance in an amplified situation. Offered with an Aceto/Violect pickup. Available in 4, 5 and 6 string versions.
