JORDAN ELECTRIC VIOLINS / JORDAN MUSIC SERVICES is the workshop of John Jordan. After more than a decade of running a multi-employee shop, John has chosen to concentrate almost entirely on building instruments while working alone. Jordan Electric Violins achieve superior balance and ergonomic function.

Following principles underly the design of Jordan's instruments:
- Elimination of unnecessary mass from the body and scroll places the remaining weight as close to the support of the chin and shoulder as possible.
- Relocation of the tuning pegs behind the bridge takes weight off the neck, making the instrument seem lighter with a sleek appearance.
- Precision geared tuning machines makes fine tuners unnecessary.
- Maintaining standard violin geometry and proportion allows any violin pickup system to be used and the semi-solid body design ensures no feedback even at stage volume.

Indeed, due to the relocation of the tuning gear, the head stock is gone. A volume control is nearby.
