Wood Violins
This company was launched by recording artist, performer, producer, inventor and Emmy-winning composer Mark Wood, who has built a range of instruments that gave violinists possibilities that where previously reserved for guitar players.
Wood violins are original instruments, such as the "Viper" (equiped with a special Chest Support System™ that makes shoulder pad and chin rest unneeded) which looks a bit like the famous Gibson Flying V guitars, the "Sabre" which looks like a more classical electric guitar (Stratocastar...), the affordable "Stingray"...
The Viper, Sabre, and Stingray all come with a Schatten pickup included, with the exception of 7-string models which utilize the Barbera pickup. Using a pre-amp is recommended with the Schatten pickups. For an additional charge the Barbera transducer bridge pickup, can be provided, which has a piezo pickup under each string.
