StringAmp ™

Transducers:

The basic StringAmp™ principle is electrodynamic, as in very high performance microphones. It works by the spatial movement of the string in an individually calibrated active field. The preamplifier is responsible for both generating and sensing this field. Each string can be adjusted separately for an even volume and harmonic content. Its sound quality can be compared to expensive studio microphones. At the same time it is robust and virtually insensitive to feedback.
A StringAmp™ pickup comes with a handbuilt beltpack preamp as standard, or a studio quality preamp. The package should be installed on an acoustic instrument by an accredited violinmaker, or by MusikLab. It is used by players like Svend Asmussen, the famous Jazz violinist.

Short description:

MusikLab is the company that produces the StringAmp™ violin pickup. It was developed by Michael Edinger, a danish electronics engineer and violin player.
